Traditionally mosques are perceived as intimate places of worship. The project is envisioned as a self-sustaining, multi-use and adaptive mosque that fosters a sense of community and social well-being.
There are several times in a given day any mosque would remain quiet or unused to its full potential. Holistically or in parts. By integrating diverse functions into the mosque, it will be used throughout the day rather than just during prayer hours, improving the efficiency of it’s spaces. While showcasing the lighter side of the rituals, culture and community spirit that thrive within a place of worship. In addition to a mosque’s evident religious function, it also carries a cultural and social responsibility.
This Mosque will not only be a place to gather for prayers but will also house numerous visitors throughout the day by accommodating synergistic programs such as Art classes, Daycare, Sunday School and Co-working spaces. Hence, It will not only serve the Muslim community, but also the local residents of the neighbourhood and other visitors.
