Project description

Stress Free Island - A design thesis of the reducing urban stress through architecture design.

I know that too much stress can have a negative effect on our health. Hong Kong is the most stressful city in the world. I find that a lot of people struggle with stress. I wanted to know if something could be changed so that people wouldn't feel stressed all day. Since I am an architecture student, I believe that architecture can also make a positive contribution to reducing stress.

Hong Kong is the most stressed city in the world. This project attempts to redesign the Central Market, a historic building in Hong Kong. Being a building can provide a stress-reducing function for the people around it and can treat their mental health. The main goal of the project is to try to relieve stress by helping the public get away from the urban environment. It shows how to use indirect stress reduction strategies from the social and environmental aspects can be implemented in the design.
